It seems like every recipe I reach for these days requires some sort of grater. This one for cheese, this one for chocolate, some for lemon zest too! What’s even worse is it seems each one requires a different tool. So, on my search for a quality grater at reasonable pricing I stumbled upon Microplane Direct. I was excited to find out I was getting to review their box grater. This isn’t any cutter either. It has nice rubber bottoms so the metal won’t slip around on my counters. It comes with a nice cover that slides over the top. Its easy to hold with a nice gripper on the main upper handle. I used it for both cheese and chocolate before reviewing it and it worked perfectly. *Stay tuned for those recipes a bit later! It was easy to clean. I actually have one of the hand held graters and use it all the time, but I think the one I would use ever more would be the box grater, just because of the ease of using it for different items. The things we grate the most are cheese, and oddly enough, soap! I make my own laundry soap and have to grate the bar soap that is one of the ingredients!

I bought my husband a Microplane Ribbon Grater for Christmas (to go with the five pound block of his favorite cheese), and we love it. I’d like to add the Grater Attachment to the collection — it holds the cheese (or whatever) for you, to protect your fingers.
