So what’s a girl to do when she really wants to go to sleep and her kid is still up waiting for the Easter bunny?
Blog, of course! I have finished filling all 104 eggs with either M&M’s or Hershey kisses and now I just sit and wait. My mom came over today and brought the boys their Easter baskets and J got the new Madagascar DVD and he stayed up to watch the whole thing. It was our faults for not making him go to bed earlier. I didn’t even get home with G until around 9:40pm. Great job Mom!
See, I didn’t get around to getting out of the house until around 6:30pm tonight because it rained this morning and our egg hunt got cancelled 🙁 so my mom figured she’d come over here and see the kids. I ended up sitting around drinking coffee with her and the boys played. When hubby got home he took J outside because they started building the new swing set!!! G didn’t get down for his nap until at least 2:30 and that boy needs his nap or he is thecrankiest, winey, littletired miserable boy! See, I waited and never got the baskets finished and just assumed I’d find the time so off we went to the mall.
I searched the entire mall: Target, Christmas Tree Shops, BRU, AC Moore, CVS, $1 Store, and more looking for those silly plastic colored eggs to put candy in, ALL were sold out. Last year we were moving back into our house and through all the craziness I lost, threw out, gave away (???) the eggs. I also had to stop into BRU and get a refill for G’s DeKor and waited 34 minutes in a line!!! UGH! So finally -out of time- I left sad thinking their would be no candy egg hunt. G was saying his “belly hurt like hungry” so I went to get him chicken nuggets really quick and noticed Kmart was still open. We flew in and {YAY} there are eggs! I grabbed four bags of eggs and two more bags of candy and run for the registers like some mom was going to tackle them away from me or something. In the car, off to home we go.
Hubs and J were still in the garage working on the pieces now to the swing set. The frame and floor to the two houses were standing outside.
So, now I wait. The movie is done J’s just laying there. Counting by 3’s. I wish he would just stop already and go to sleep. G is lightly snoring, he passed out in two seconds flat….the whole Easter thing isn’t making sense to him yet. There’s no anticipation there…he just knows the Easter Bunny brings bubbles and he’s good with that LOL! I still need to lay the eggs from the feet of both their beds all the way to their baskets (bags) and hide the remaining all over the place. Ugh!

You are good! Creating magic takes a lo of time and energy huh? LOVE the idea of the the egg trail to their baskets.
Sorry about the plastic eggs! I have been stockpiling and didnt have enough to fill them. Wish I could send you some 🙂
Sorry too about the weather! SO jealous of your mom coming, and bringing baskets and sharing coffee 🙂 Can I buy my way in to that with some plastic eggs?
