I recently received this beautiful blanket from SHI SHU BABY. It came beautifully wrapped just like they show it on their website. Perfect if you have this blanket in mind for your next baby shower gift. When I first unwrapped the blanket I was surprised by its size. Many blankets that are designed with babies in mind are very small in size and are hard to use past the baby stage. This blanket was a great 30″ x 40″ in size. Which means not only is it a great size blanket but it’s also big enough for your child to use in their toddler bed when they get bigger! I also loved the soft feel and the beautiful hand-woven design. This blanket is made with 60% cotton and 40% bamboo with 100% bamboo sateen trim. No scratchy microfiber or polyester! Which means this blanket is all natural! No worries about all the chemicals you hear sneaking into fabrics these days from foreign countries!
This means a lot to me because since I was 14 I have been suffering with severe psoriasis that covers my skin from head to toe with red splotches. I take medication to mild down the flare ups and for the fact that having polka dotted skin is embarrassing at times and I do what I can to help prevent future flare ups. So knowing that this blanket is made of natural fabrics is wonderful. Since my skin disease is hereditary that means my children can some day get it, which honestly scares me. All it takes is something to irritate the skin and cause a rash and you can have your first patch show up.
This is actually what inspired this blanket (not psoriasis, but a rash). Tamre’s son was given a soft cuddly blanket when he was born and when she placed it near his skin he began to break out in rashes!!!

I like the SHI SHU BABY CELEDON color but wish they had some blue/ tan or pink/ tan color combos available. I love neutral colors with a splash of brightness.
