Pampered Chef Taco Ring Recipe

This past week I ventured into some of my old recipes that I use to make often and for some reason or another I just stopped making. So you may have seen this post before if you followed me back in 2009. Chances are you didn’t and I think this is one recipe your kids will definitely thank you for.

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese I used 2 cups
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 2 - 8 oz pkgs. refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1 med. green bell pepper
  • 1/2 head lettuce shredded
  • 1 med. tomato cubed
  • 1 small onion chopped
  • 1/2 cup whole pitted black olives sliced
  • 1 cup salsa
  • sour cream

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375. Then take out your round stone and your crescent rolls. Open the With crescent rolls fan out making a circle. Leave crescent rolls open in triangular shape. See picture.
  • Cook hamburg, drain.
  • Add cooked hamburg, water, and taco seasoning and mix in small bowl.
  • Add cheese, mix.
  • With scoop add mixture to thickest part of crescent rolls. Continue around entire circle.
  • Tuck the ends of the crescents over and then press it into it's base keeping itself together. You will have to pinch some with your fingers.
  • Bake 22 minutes.
  • Add your shredded lettuce in the center. Cut Bell Pepper in half, scrape clean. Add salsa to pepper.
  • Serve.

TACO RING

First you want to preheat your oven to 375. Then take out your round stone and your crescent rolls. Open the packages of crescent rolls and separate them all. Then start to make a circle with them along the stone like below:

Then take a rolling pin and smooth out the bumps where the crescents over laid each other. If you don’t have a rolling pin, use your fingers, a can, or a cup.

Then cook your hamburg accordingly, then drain.

Take your cooked hamburg, water, and taco seasoning and mix in small bowl.
Add cheese and mix well.
Once you have it mixed together really good grab a melon scooper or your Pampered Chef medium Scoop. Start to scoop the hamburg mixture along the base of the crescent rolls. Keep the “scoop” together as you go.
Once you have the entire circle done with the hamburg mixture begin to tuck the ends of the crescents over and then press it into it’s base keeping itself together. You will have to pinch some with your fingers.
Once it’s completed it should look like this. Stick in oven for 22 mins or until golden brown.
It should look like this when it comes out.
Then you want to add your shredded lettuce in the center. You’re supposed to cut the pepper in half and pour the salsa into it for a pretty look but for just us why waste a good pepper?
Sprinkle with toppings your family likes 🙂
Pretty simple right? The first time you do this making the circle will be a bit frustrating. But once you do it you’ll get better at it. I can do the whole top process in about 10 mins now. Talk about a fast meal!

I got this meal as well out of the Pampered Chef: Main Dishes Cookbook

My son would definitely thank me for it! He’s not a big vegetable person so I like that we can both come away happy.

This is also good on a rectangle stone and use the crescent rolls to make a braid like the Chicken and Broccoli Braid. You get larger servings and with two boys and a husband that loves this, I find the braid works better.

This is a good and easy recipe, but I use fajita seasoning instead of taco which is wonderful.

I used to sell Pampered Chef and did a lot of these at my parties. I was doing them in homes before FB became a thing! Really love the products!
