Martha Speaks: Martha Goes To School DVD Review

Martha Speaks is a cute, education cartoon sure to catch your child’s attention. When I asked my boys if they wanted to review the latest ‘Martha Speaks‘ DVD they quickly agreed telling me those were the cartoons with the talking dog. That when she eats alphabet soup, the letters go to her brain instead of her stomach and she speaks! I had no clue what they were talking about but they seemed interested so I agreed.
I sat down and watched this DVD with Gavin yesterday and surprisingly he sat from start to finish. I was surprised because it introduced a lot of large vocabulary that I was concerned might be too much for him. Not at all. Best part after each episode they stop and reintroduce the vocabulary words and explain their meanings so if they didn’t understand it, they would.
I definitely recommend Martha Speaks as it can certainly help build the backbone to their speaking and reading vocabulary.

“The endearing beloved family dog, Martha, has a lot to say in her new release Martha Goes to School. Join Martha and her family as they discover hundreds of new words to teach children. Based on the successful children’s book series by Susan Meddaugh, and now airing on PBS KIDS, the DVD features eight new-to-DVD episodes, printable coloring pages, resources for parents and descriptive video service for the visually impaired.”
