Who are you?I’m Olga Gillies, the person that started OV Gillies.
How did you come up with your Etsy store name?
I’m hopeless with names! OV Gillies Designs is basically my name – initials of my first and middle name (which I no longer use) and my surname – coupled together with what I do or have in that shop. I also craft all of the jewellery myself, but I thought that if I included that too in the name it would be just a tad long…COPPER AQUA

Bright Silver Handcrafted Earrings with Lodolite Gem and Crystals
How long have you been making jewelry?My grandmother had a great collection of jewellery and my mother was slowly accumulating hers when I first began playing with beads.
The first proper necklace I made was in 1999 when I couldn’t find anything suitable to wear to an exhibition opening in which some of my paintings were featured. However, it’s only in 2007 that I have bought my first proper equipment and decided to create in a more professional manner. At that time I wasn’t painting and I needed something that I could create with my hands to balance out fiction writing I was working on.

Is there anywhere other then Etsy we can find you?Until recently I was also selling from my website http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5512653 but me and my husband are currently working on re-developing it to be able to accommodate all the things I create. It will be up and running again some time this year.

What is your favorite piece?This has to be the hardest question! I really cannot choose one piece. I’m so hopeless at this that I even offered a multiple choice for a giveaway on my blog a few weeks back.
I create only what I like, everything that, given a chance, I would wear myself, so to choose just one item or even just a few is somewhat impossible!

Dainty Drop Oxidized Silver Earrings with Czech Glass Drops
I was lucky enough to review her Rain At Midnight Earrings. I love that they are so light and dainty. They always seem to fall perfectly and didn’t seem to tangle up when I wore them. She did an awesome job with the wiring even when she has a super thin wire! They even came wrapped very nicely! I could have easily given these as a gift when I got them and not had to worry about gift wrapping!
