Tipping

I know you are supposed to tip people but I always get tripped up in what you are supposed to tip. Since I was a waitress (sorry the correct term is now server) I never want to be the happy tipper since tips were my living, but these days I can’t afford to be the best tipper either. I hate going to get my eyebrows and lip waxed especially. I can’t be rockin’ the unibrow as well as Bert and when hubby rubs my upperlip and tells me mine is longer then his…I know its time ( to smack him as well….and YES he does do that!) but what I love is walking in and having them rip me to shreds, I get to walk out looking from another planet b/c I always turn bright red for the next four hours thanks to my lovely sensitive skin and it took them less than 10 mins to torture me like this. I then pay $15 for each waxing. And then I still have to tip and they make off with what it takes me an hour to make just in a tip LOL! But I love the girl who waxes me and how do you go from being the good tipper down to the one who leaves $2 LOL!

We recently got an offer for the Sunday paper for $19.50 for the YEAR, which comes down to roughly $.37 a paper! I thought wow what a deal….but then you have to tip them! I have never had a paper delivered and don’t even know what a reasonable amount is to tip your newspaper carrier. How often do you tip them???

So I would love to know who do you tip? How well do you tip? Is there any service out there that you refuse to leave a tip for?

It seems there are so many rules for tipping, and I can’t keep up with them! I do love the little tipping calculator that came on my phone – it really helps for a girl who can not do math in her head. 🙂

I’m from near Lisbon, the capital. but it’s a small country, I know almost every place. 🙂 and where are they from?

For the paperboy, we always just give tips for holidays. It is not like it is a job that you have a lot of personal attention and there really isn’t room to excel or screw up. Aside from that I just tip 20% unless I was upset about something, then they get 10%!

(Thanks for the comment about the Halloween thing too, there was a blog I read yesterday that I found from you that got me so upset… you made me feel a lot better!!)
