Is it time to start shopping yet?

So, I can’t believe I have started my Christmas shopping already and that i actually started in October. I am normally that mom who puts it off until the very last moment and then I’m ticked b/c that must have item is sold out or unavailable and I’m off to the internet to see who guarantees delivery in 48 hours LOL, I know!
So this year I thought since the economy is horrible and we have many other obligations between here and then I should start now.
Johnny my soon to be 8 year old has these items on his list.
Addicted to his Nintendo DS he really wants this game. Before the fire we rocked an original SuperNintendo that completely rocked the house and he loved the Kirby game. If I could find a way to replace the original game and controllers I would….there’s nothing like the original Donkey Kong and Yoshi’s Island LOL! He also really wants this game. Its nice b/c we used to have the original and you learn to memorize the characters really fast. With this one there are several character sheets to change around, so you stand a chance of playing a ‘real’ game longer.

He is also addicted to these K’nex toys. They keep him uber busy and make his brain tick, but his bedroom is starting to look like a mini theme park for 2 in. sized people. This one I got for him already but I don’t know if he will get it for Christmas or give it to him in 2 weeks for his birthday. We shall have to wait and see.

My little one who is 2 really wants a “pooh house” well, this is the closest thing I can find to a “pooh house” but ringing in at $45 I don’t know if its worth it. It looks like one of those toys they will play with temporarily and then be pushed to the side.

My boy LOVES his ABC’s and 123’s. He is always trying to take over my computer and I saw this and grabbed it instantly! He will love it for sure!

I found this from Little People and grabbed this right up as well and it looks like it does quite a bit and is filled with learning things like ABC’s, 123’s, shapes, colors, etc. Plus, it folds up and the yellow roof becomes a handle and all the pieces fit inside.

This will be his BIG present. A train table. We got the honey one to match his room. My step mother has already gotten him what I believe to be the entire Thomas Collection already so he will have a field day with this. We had a train table for Johnny and it lasted far beyond the stage of trains. It became a great area for matchbox car races, Lego building and such. It was a great place for things to stay at eye level, keep stuff of the floor and allow you to take big projects and keep them somewhere. Besides what little boy doesn’t NEED a train table?

So, here is our list so far. If I find any other great finds I will keep ya posted. I have a few other things, small things, books, etc. But we still aren’t done and hopefully I finish far before the week before Christmas!

Officially, we are done. I am the one that shops for next years gifts the day after Christmas and then am on alert the rest of the year to fill in the gaps. Their birthdays are in November and December so I feel like I have to spread it all out.

Good luck finding those great looking gifts!

I, too, have started the Christmas shopping! We are trying to watch our spending this Christmas so I decided to buy a little bit here and there…our 15 year old is easy…clothes and $$$…our 9 year old gets to ask for 3 gifts from “Santa” and then 3 gifts from mom and dad…We explained that baby Jesus was given 3 gifts at Christmas so that is all she may ask for…this has worked very well over the years! I liked all of your choices…happy shopping:)
