Roku Digital Video Player – Better then DVD’s – Review & Giveaway! {CLOSED}

I remember the first time I saw a posting on the Roku Digital Video Player. I was instantly intrigued. I read review after review trying to get as much information on it as possible. I had read how with a subscription to Netflix, Amazon Video on Demand, or MLB.com you can instantly watch your favorite shows, movies, and games on your TV!
No longer will you have to make special trips out to the store to watch a new release or go and spend $20 on another DVD that will just sit on the shelf and collect dust after a few viewings. If you’re anything like me you get nailed with a ton of late fees because something always happens and that movie never makes it back when it was supposed too!
With the Roku Digital Video Player you’ll never have to go through any of that again!
See in our bedroom we have a big screen TV that hangs from the ceiling. This is my hubbys love. He built the entire bedroom around this TV. While I love it too I hated how it was nearly impossible to connect a DVR or DVD player up to it. It would look hidious with wires coming out of it. I had read how the Roku player can be wireless! How great is that! We just use our wireless internet connection already set up (on the other side of the house).
When it came in I was rather surprised at how small it was. I was expecting this huge connection box like the rest of the devices in our home. However, it is really small and light weight. From the moment we took it out of the box to the moment we were watching ‘Bedtime Stories’ was about 10 minutes. We chose to go with a Netflix account. At $8.99/month you can access all their instant directly.
We have a HDTV and were impressed with the quality that the Roku box provided. The picture and sound went through it beautifully.
There are a few issues I don’t like about Netflix but LOVE the Roku. I wish you could skip having to go on the internet to put your shows and movies into que and do it right from the remote. We have watched a few movies already and we’ve only had it for about a week. It has definitely ended our TV boredom of nothing being on. Now, if we can only get the children out of our room. They since discovered that Netflix has an amazing selection of kid shows and movies including hit shows from Discovery!
