Aloha Friday – Stick Shift

If you’ve never heard of it, it started over on An Island Life.

I ask a question….I answer it….and then you answer it too!
Sound like fun?

So, for this week’s question:

Q: Can you drive a stick shift?

A: My first car was a stick shift. I had no choice but to learn. Luckily my hubby has great patience for things like that or I never would have learned. Of course he was just my boyfriend then at 16. But he brought me out to some back roads and forced me to keep trying until I started catching on.

I think I peeled rubber or jerked the car for a good month though. I used to avoid the center of town like no other and take twice as long to get places by taking back roads LOL!

The first time I was by myself and had to drive it I was running late for cheerleading practice. Do you know it took me almost 10 minutes just to get out of the parking spot I was in. People just watched as I was a riot to watch although I was annoyed & embarrassed beyond belief!

Needless to say now that I am older I prefer it. My Jeep is my first vehicle that is an automatic and it will be my last! I love driving a stick shift! Although, I think I’d have to give up my heated leather seats because the limited edition models don’t come stick shift Grrr!
