The best gift I’ve ever given? That’s a hard question. I’ve been given it some thought and I don’t think I’ve had the pleasure of giving the ultimate gift to anyone. I’ve given some good gifts just not anything that would probably constitute as someone’s best gift ever. I’ve given my Mom a Tassimo and my step mother a Keurig. They were both incredibly happy about those. Hubby was thrilled when he got a leaf blower and a weed wacker one year from me as well. The best gift I’ve given as a parent was definitely Johnny’s first bike. It was before Gavin was born and he dragged us outside and rode it in the snow he was so excited.
I’ve also received some amazing gifts myself. The best gift my husband ever gave me was definitely the diamond journey necklace I got a few years ago. I’ve never taken it off my neck. My mom got me my Kitchenaid Stand Mixer when John and I got back together and I was just getting into cooking. My Dad surprised Johnny & I with tickets to Florida one year too. My in-laws buy our whole family tickets to FL every year now and it’s one gift I am so appreciative of because we could never afford to fly the four of us down every year. Overall, I guess it’s not the material gift that has mattered the most over the years. As I’ve shared with you recently I have spent many Christmases alone and it really isn’t any fun. In fact it is down right depressing. Having a big family to celebrate and spend time with now is really the Ultimate gift. I love the holiday season and all it brings. Having family to spend it with and make all the memories with is truly my best gift ever.
When you really put some thought into it- What the best gift ever is- it’s really quite a question. It’s made me think of many great memories I haven’t thought of in such a long time.
