I was provided with compensation from Scholastic Parent & Child as part of my participation. All thoughts and ideas are my own.
Hayden is at such a fun age. He finds absolutely everything fascinating and has million questions about everything. Then those questions have even more follow up questions! It is exhausting sometimes but really fun too. I’ve been writing down some of his questions he has asked lately. A few of them are “How do you make ink?” “What is a utility?” “Why is it called a sandwich?” ….I could go on and on. He is so curious and it is fun to teach him new things. I love that he loves to learn.
Scholastic Parent & Child have created a really fun app for iPhone and Android called KidQ. KidQ is an excellent tool that helps parent and child connect through conversation. After you download the app you can set a time to get a new question each day. We have been asked “Why do dogs have wet noses?” and “Why do feet smell.” Hayden found both of these questions and their answers interesting, and hilarious. Each day has a new playful question that serves as a conversation starter along with the official answer. Along with the answer to each question there are more fun facts that go a long with the question.
Our favorite time to look at the question of the day is at dinner time. It is so fun to have a whole family discussion about the question and our discussions usually keep branching out to more fun topics. The KidQ app question is so great to break up our dinner conversations outside of the basic “how was your day.” Also if someone is a little grumpy, by the end of dinner we are all laughing.
Best of all the KidQ app from Scholastic Parent and Child is totally FREE! Please go to http://www.scholastic.com/apps/#/kidq and download the app. You will love the fun conversations you have with your kids and families.
