We’ve been Webkinz fans for years and years now. When they first came out Johnny and I were rather addicted to them to be quite honest. As Johnny got older he out grew the game and we stopped buying out pets and eventually out accounts expired and we stopped playing.
Then last year I thought we’d try one for Gavin but he still wasn’t quite ready for them online and would only play occasionally. Then over this summer he really got into computer games and had a blast playing them all. I remembered about Webkinz account and thought how great it would be for him. So I jumped on Webkinz and used their store locator to find out who was still selling them and found a cute Christmas one to put in Gavin’s stocking.
If you can’t decide on which pet to get your child you can check out the Webkinz Gift Guide for some great choices like the Webkinz Rockerz Poodle and the Rockabilly Rooster I received. I love that they have everyday animals, farm animals, unique animals, just about anything you can think of!
Don’t worry about having too many! As you can see here my boys have FIVE PAGES of animals to chose from. They can pick which ever one they want to play with, feed, and dress. When they do their happiness, love, and hunger levels rise.
When you decide which one you want there are lots of choices of what you can do. Our personal favorite is the arcade where you can make money to spend on other things in Webkinz world.
You can also build a home for them. As you can see my boys have been busy and have build so many rooms that we can’t see it all in one viewing.
It’s not just regular rooms either. You can make parks, stores, restaurants, and more!
I love that in the store your child can even practice their math skills. One thing I don’t care for are all the ads you see at all times on the right sidebar. You can’t do anything to get rid of them either. As it’s my child on 99% of the time I really want it to be not focused on things I need to buy additionally. I wish there was a way to opt out because Gavin hits them a lot on accident.
Best part is that once you invest in only one plush it gives you access to the site for one year. As you imput new animals your year timeframe will extend out.
What is really cool is they just came out with a new iPad app!!! We’ve been waiting for this and have had the Goobers Lab app for awhile and the boys have loved being able to play it. Make sure to follow Webkinz facebook page so you can hear more about the iPad app and so you can play their game there too! So many options and so many places for your children to have fun with their favorite plush friends! Make sure to also follow them on twitter so you don’t miss any news!

You know I think this is great! I might have to look into this for my oldest. He loves the computer and computer games, but we don’t let him play at home. He’s played at his Grandparents a lot, but this looks very neat! I’m really glad you shared this!
About four years ago my boys became addicted to Webkinz. They had a huge collection of them and played with them all the time. Goober’s Lab was the fave game. Now that the kids are older they no longer play but still have a couple of their most cherished Webkinz plush. I definitely recommend Webkinz.
