We woke up this morning to my husband yelling. Half our house didn’t have power. We couldn’t figure it out. By 7am we had no power in our entire home. We called our electric company and there were no other complaints of loss of power. We waited until around 9 am and I sent Johnny to knock on a few neighbors homes to see if it was just us. And it was.
So here we are with no power. No power for us also means no water because we get our water from a well. This is difficult because that means no laundry, no dishwasher, no showers. We can’t even flush our toilets or wash our hands.
We also have no internet connection. Right now I am hanging out at my mom’s so we can shower and get some things done. I won’t be around much as we’re worried we know what the cause is and it may tak up to a WEEK to fix. Here’s hoping to a quick, non-expensive fix. I’ll be around when I can…
To the sponsors I have posts due over the next week I will get what I can done by all means possible.
I feel your pain! Last week we woke up to the sound of a loud pop and our electric went out. I went outside and the electic pole was on fire! Luckily they got everything fixed and we were only out for about a day. A few years ago when I was 6 months pregnant we had a huge ice storm and our electric was out for over 2 weeks. This was the most horrible thing ever because it was freezing, I was pregnant and I had a 3 year old and since everyone elses power was out too, we had no where to go. After that 2 weeks I will never take electricity for granted again!
Hope it’s fixed soon for ya’ll, sending positive thoughts!
Oh man, what an extremely RUDE wake up call O.o
Hopefully it get’s fixed soon and less expensively!!
Oh, Jennifer! I’m so sorry. We live in the country, so I understand about the well. I also understand about the power, because when Hurricane Rita hit close to us, it knocked out our electricity for two weeks. Thank goodness we have generators! We hooked one up to our water pump, and ran an extension cord to the fridge and freezer. We also plugged the television into this cord, so we could find out what was going on, and keep the kids from driving us crazy. Occasionally a fan or two was also plugged in to it. It can be so awful! I hope it all gets fixed quickly. You might save up for a couple of generators!
man, that stinks! i hope you get your power back asap! bummer that you’re heading into the weekend.
I’m so sorry! What a pain! I hope it gets taken care of quickly for your sake! LIke the first comment, we also had an ice storm a few years ago. We didn’t have electricity for seven days straight in below freezing temperatures. Almost no one in our town had electricity. It was FREEZING and our son was only five months old. Misery!
I had a problem once with the power, and it wasn’t the switches, but it was the main switch there was a prob. Another time we had problem with our Internet. I had those guys out here FOUR times this company thought I was nuts always complaining. Long story short – their dang wire was old & decrepit. Like it was rotten or something. ewwwwwwww They put a new one in, and then because I had all three with the same company (cable, telephone & internet) there was also a connection that the internet wire connected with the telephone wire was 3/4 of the way fried they replaced those and it worked like brand new, but it only took the “4” times to come out here! AUGHHHHHH Hope they find the problem right away Jenn! Your welcome to come to my house if ya like, but I think I’m a little far from you (Illinois). Hugzzzzzzzzzzzz
Oh that sucks. Hope you guys can get it fixed quickly 🙂
I hope it got fixed!
I remember after Mica was born we kept losing our power that year! I had a deep freezer stocked with meat and breast milk. I also needed to pump! I was so annoyed!
