I really do stink at keeping secrets. If it’s important and I really need to keep a secret I can do it. When it’s a good secret though I struggle. If you’ve noticed I’ve been all over the place the past two weeks here’s my explanation:
After 3.5 years of trying we finally decided to call it quits and move forward with our lives. Afterall, our children were only getting older and older. Of course that is when it finally happened!
Gulp, and yes, I did test three {cough six} times and get a bod test to confirm. Hey, this is for real. I didn’t believe that after one month of giving up it could happen. Oh, and did you know you can get a preggo test at the $1 store? Who knew?!
How wonderful! I saved my pregnancy tests in a ziplock bag. Gross or touching? Probably gross. But there’s nothing like the proof of a pee stick!
Tara, I was just reading this and you are SO cute!
My hubby and I adopted both of our kiddos, so I never had the pleasure of having a positive pee stick, so I know how exciting it would be to have one and never let it go.
My friend, who is waaaaaaaay more creative than me, took a picture of hers on the counter, then of her holding it with her expression, and her hubby too. She has a whole scrapbook page dedicated to each of her 4 kids with all of the pictures for them to see when they are older.
Some of her pictures her face was happy, some crying, and some shock. 🙂 She has 4 kids under the age of 5 🙂 She also is only 23. Anyway, thought you might like this idea, just incase something ever happened to them!

I know, we tried for a year to get preggo and when we finally stopped “Trying” is when it happened! Amazing. And I was honestly NOT paying attention trying not to think about it and then noticed I missed my period by like 5 days!
I’m sorry you guys were trying for so long to get preggo again! But I’m really happy for you that it finally happened!

It took us 3.5 years to get pregnant with #1. We were told it wouldn’t happen outside of IVF so we took a couple months off to prepare for that and bam I was pregnant. And then 15 months after our son was born we got a second shock and found out we were pregnant with #2 (also without trying). Miracles happen everyday. 🙂 I am SO happy for you and I wish you a very healthy and boring 9 months!

Six tests… not so bad. With Emma I was so paranoid about losing her I tested daily for weeks (yes, found the $1 tests!)… oh and not just once a day. I will NOT admit to how many I took, but don’t feel bad about 3-6 LOL.

As a side note, I can’t tell you how many times I think to myself (when hearing of couples trying) “they should just stop trying and I bet it will happen”, as I know quite a few couples that have had that experience. That can come off as insensitive though, so I just zip it. 😉 I’m glad it worked for you 2 as well.
