As you know I recently came back from Chicago for my last Wilton trip. Getting home was something in itself. I arrived to the airport around 2 pm to find out my 2.5 hour direct flight was cancelled when I tried to print my ticket. I couldn’t understand why it wouldn’t allow me to print it. It kept telling me that I couldn’t print a boarding pass more then 12 hours prior to boarding. What??? I’m boarding in 2.5 hours. Wrong! They cancelled my flight and didn’t tell me and just rescheduled me to 28 hours later to get home. Not.Going.To.Happen!
So, five plane tickets later I got home. Not a single problem that I ran into that day was my own. I missed flights, ran across airports, and visited different parts of the country! I even jumped from airline to airline- but by golly I got home!

WOW! That’s a lot of flights to get home.
Sorry I entered twice. The first one is wrong if you’d like to delete it. I hit enter way to fast. π
Wow! That was some trip. Too bad you didn’t actually get to “see” anything for all your traveling:)
Ugh, how frustrating! Glad to hear you got home.
Wow! That sounds like a rough day. Glad you made it home!
Whew! Makes me tired just looking at all those tickets! you’ve got determination for sure!
Yikes. I would freak the hell out if a flight got cancelled and had to jump through that many hoops to get home.
One of the many reasons I am scared to travel by air. I would freak! Glad you made it home
what a pain!!
Ugh, sorry it was such an ordeal!
Sounds like a nightmare! Glad you made it back
What a mess!
Wow! That was some trip. I guess that’s what they mean by “Woman on a mission”!!! You made it happen, and I guess that’s all that matters.
What a traveling nightmare
Holy cow what a pain! Reminds me of when I went to Brazil as a teen and our first flight out they let us know we had to stop in Indiana and then back to Detroit and because of that we had to RUN through the Detroit airport to catch the plane to Orlando. Then in Orlando we had a 6 hour layover and still had to stop in Miami to pick up passengers. We totally slept the whole flight it was a LOOOOONG day! and it was daylight before we landed in Brazil.
Oh wow – what a pain!!!
I hope you got lots of credit and comps from the airlines!
I wish, but since Wilton paid for my flight they’ll get the comps. It’s all good though π
Looks exhausting! I thought 3 connecting flights was bad, I could not imagine 5!
ICK! Another reason I don’t like flying!
I never got to call you back because I found out I had to start running
Sounds like something I would not feel comfortable dealing with. When it comes to travel I’m a major wimp!
It was definitely harder because I was alone. My husband is good at just telling me where to go.
What a nightmare! I am glad you finally made it.
Ugh, at that point I would have started walking.
LOL, When we finally made it to NC another person near me was actually going on the next flight with me and we joked we’d rent a car. It was our final flight home. He had actually been on my original flight and was playing the same game I was. I felt bad for him as he was flying in from New Zealand and had 15 hours on me.
That is insane. Did you get reimbursed by the airline or travel agency?
Thats alot of planes, I can barely handle switching once ugh!
that is terrible!! I hate airports for that reason. SO disorganized!! I am praying nothing like this happens to me when I travel to NC in 10 days. I’ll have a 6 month old so this would really extra double suck!! I am also just glad you didn’t lose any luggage in all this mess
LOL, I almost freaked when US Airways told me I had to check my Vera Suitcase. They refused to give it back at the gate though and wanted to send it to my final destination with my laptop in it. I was livid when the plane had a 2 hour mechanical delay and I knew I missed my next flight before I even took off. Of course they wouldn’t allow me off the plane and I had to find another way home again.
I’m just so glad you finally made it home. That is absolutely crazy the way they routed you! Ugh.
The annoying part was I could have sat in O’hare when all was said and done and gotten home 1 hour later but have relaxed the entire time. Especially when I found out Shannon was delayed until 9 pm. I would have only been alone for 3 hours. Ugh!
Not a fan of flying myself, but I have done it enough.
Hi I am new to the site and it looks great! It’s nice to hear you came to Chicago, next time you come you have to go to Molly’s Cupcakes it is worth the trip by itself π
wow!! that’s a lot of plane hopping.
And THAT is just one of the many reasons that I hate to fly lol!
Oh my gosh! How HORRIBLE! I would have flipped my lid if someone did that to me o.O
I admire how you handled this situation-That determination is definitely inspiring!
Wow!! What a pain!
Glad you got home safely! What a day you had.
Whoa what a mess! Glad you made it safely home!
So glad you finally made it home! That was some day!
Oh my goodness, that’s a lot of flights! I haven’t flown on a plane in a long time but I can imagine that was a hectic day for you. Hope you were able to get some rest when you got home.
I’ve been there. I hate that! So glad you got home ok.
You must have felt like kissing the ground when you finally got home.
Oh! I did a happy dance when I landed!
Oh Wow. I think I would have cried. I am not much of a flying person.
How frustrating! I am glad you got home though!
Glad you made it home! I would have lost it. When I went to Florida in November, and a flight got cancelled d/t weather, I bawled my eyes out. I am not a good traveler!
Virginia
That sucks! And you handled much better than I would have (I probably would have broke down – at least at first). π
Wow that is insane!
My goodness! I would have found a way to get home A.S.A.P. too. You’re a trooper!
That just sucks! I hate when that happens – glad you got home safely to your family and I’m sure they were very happy to have you home.
