I have to be honest when I heard all the buzz about this movie I was turned off and had no interest. I mean really, garden gnomes? How could this movie be good. Then I heard all the talk of how great it was and didn’t buy it. Then one of the kids vacations came and Daddy took a day off of work to spend it with us and told the kids they could pick any movie they wanted and he’d take them to it. For once there was a whole slew of movies out. Perfect! Then I realized the kids were begging him to see Gnomeo & Juliet and I was like, what? No! I did everything in my mommy powers to change their minds but they weren’t having it. We were going to see Gnomeo & Juliet regardless of what I though.
And I’m glad we did. The movie was great! It was cute, funny, and even brought tears to my eyes at one point. Of course I also laughed throughout. I left the theater so happy we had gone to see that movie and not the one I thought we’d like better. I knew it was one we’d need to have for our collection and couldn’t wait until it came out on DVD so we could all see it again. Well, that day has come! Tomorrow, May 24, 2011 Gnomeo & Juliet will finally be available for purchase on both DVD and Blu-Ray!
