On Saturday we celebrated Gavin’s 6th birthday by throwing him a big backyard birthday party!
We kicked it off with some time on the waterslide. We didn’t plan on using this one but our party one was attacked by mice over the winter. I was almost in tears when we saw how ruined it was. 
Then we moved on to cake. It was 95 degrees out so picking an ice cream cake was great. I loved it too because I wasn’t up until 5 am making his cake like usual. He changed his mind the week before and I was so relieved.
After cake we surprised the kids with a professional magician, balloon twister, and entertainer.
He was AWESOME. Not only did he hold all 20 kids attention- he held all 50 adults!
Then we moved on to the pinata. Of course this was made with my BFF who comes over and makes it with them every year. This was the platypus but the first thing to get smashed off were all the limbs and pieces.
And ended with FAR too many presents.

Looks like that magician was awesome. I’ve never seen an alien like that! Glad you were able to make the best of it with the mice situation. At least you have some kind of a back up! 🙂
