Mod Straps {Camera Straps, Cap Savers, & Bags} Review & Giveway

As you know I just bought a new DSLR camera. I’ve been wanting one for years and years. Now that I have one I feel really overwhelmed. There are so many things to think about and learn. One thing I need was a good way to take care of my camera. My last camera wasn’t a DSLR but it was the size and weight of one and the strap hurt me. It was banged around because I really didn’t like the feel of it worn and tossed it in my purse. I can’t treat this camera the same way. It took me years to afford it and I want it to last years and years.

When my camera came in I quickly came straight to you (on facebook), my readers, for advice on gear I’d need and Mod Straps was one of the companies recommended. After looking through all the different companies I had to agree that their products really stood out to me.

The camera straps do come in several different options varying in stye and in price. In the end I went with their Turquoise Flower Strap in the Premium Strap Collection. There are many things I LOVE about this strap. I didn’t even notice the minky backing when I picked it and it’s the best part. It’s SO soft against the back of my neck. It really makes carrying this camera around as comfortable as possible. I also love the quick release. Running around the house taking product pictures the strap often is a bother more then a help but taking it off is a pain. The quick release let you take it off in seconds and put it on in seconds too!
Also, while I loved the look of the flowers I also wondered if they would be in the way and not worth that cutesy look but in reality I don’t even notice they are there when i am using my camera. The material they use is soft so it doesn’t scratch or itch me either.

A durable and practical camera strap with soft minky backing and genuine leather ends with quick release

  • genuine leather ends & durable webbing throughout
  • quick release ends
  • tested to withstand up to 70 lbs.
  • lined with Minky Cuddle Plush fabric for ultimate comfort
  • decorative portion of the strap is 33″ & the total adjustable length is approximately 42″ – 48″, width is approximately 1.75″
  • NEW matching accessories are available!

With the recommendations for this company I was also told that I *NEEDED* to get their cap savers. I knew why. The caps on the lenses are not attached to the lenses. I watched a blogger learn the hard way by having their cap get lost and another panic on a Chicago roof top because they couldn’t find it. She spent an half hour looking all over for a cap- I spent a half hour enjoying the view.

I took a look at the cap savers saw that they were $15.50. It seems a bit much to me but they were SO liked I asked if I could review one as well. I should now tell you I ordered another one this morning. So worth every penny. LOVE it. I didn’t realize that the lens caps were different sizes at first and stuck it on my 75-300 one at the time. It’s not my most used lens and wanted one for my 50mm. You will need a different cap saver for each lens. But they are simple to use and oh so pretty! I got the pink rhinestone one when I placed my order this morning and the review one is the clear rhinestone. I figure it will help getting different ones when I’m reaching into my bag for a different lens and I’m only able to see the caps.
