When everyone thinks of Las Vegas they think of bright lights, casino’s, and tall buildings.
What they forget is that all that lights and action is in the middle of the desert and mountains.
I loved staring off at the mountains and we had a stunning view of them from our hotel room. Monday night I didn’t feel good and went back to the room for a small nap and shower and when I got up this was my view:
On our plane ride home we almost (literally) missed our plane. The lines were awful and we spent hours in them. Lucky for me so did the person who had the window seat next to me on the plane and missed their flight. I got to stare out the window the whole way home in awe. On the East Coast we have lots of green. Trees, ocean, and rivers. My views were of the Grand Canyon and Rocky Mountains. I loved all the pictures I took on my way home…can you believe almost as many as I took on my 6 day vacation!
I never knew just how beautiful the United States was in so many ways.

The scenery is really nice. I’ll remember to give myself extra time at the airport if we finally manage to get to Las Vegas.
Me likey some Nevada deserts!! gosh, I miss Vegas. Last time I was there was just driving through. need to go back!
The last year that I lived in LV I lived just a block from the Strip (yeah, scary)- but the coolest thing was that when it was cloudy at night you could go outside at 2 am and it would be bright as day because of all the lights reflecting off the clouds. The desert may be a lot of brown from a distance, but up close there are actually a lot of colors and it’s gorgeous.

Great photos! Vegas is really lovely in the morning, as the sun comes up, and everyone is asleep. It seems so special when it’s quiet there!
I took that exact same plane ride on the way home from Vegas 2 weeks ago. I was in awe! Louisiana is flat, flat, flat!

Those are amazing! I got a bit of vertigo (I’d be scared to fly over myself) but truly, our landscapes are really just amazing in this country.
