Wordless Wednesday – Sawyers Nursery Theme!

For weeks I’ve been talking about a specific nursery set for Sawyer. I technically already had a set but I was gender neutral and beige. The room I’ll be using cannot be painted or really decorated in anyway so it was going to leave the room really plain.

Problem?
I couldn’t talk hubby into it. It wasn’t a need and I was still in need of so many things. I got over my pouting and focused on the needs. I made a registry for my own use {which while being called tacky and presumptuous} was definitely useful. I was able to figure out everything I needed and wanted and put it together on one last. As I got things I was able to cross it off. Even if you’re like me and not receiving gifts I highly suggest the idea.

Then recently while gathering some nursery basics I saw my set was getting discontinued. When I asked about it I was told it wouldn’t be clearanced just not restocked as things were purchased. Of course I went into panic mode. I talked to hubby again and he still wasn’t on the same page as me. He didn’t see the point. The 9 piece set was $199 alone. The set did include the quilt, dust ruffle, 2 fitted sheets, diaper stacker, 3 piece wall art, and valance though.

So, what’s a girl to do?
I raided the house and listed a bunch on Craigslist. It’s amazing what you can accomplish when you put your mind to it. I was able to find the mobile clearanced at a different store for half price. I sold more then I needed and last Friday I was off to BRU and look what I cam home with!!!

I got the 9 piece bed bag (quilt, dust ruffle, 2 fitted sheets, diaper stacker, 3 piece wall art, and valance) a second valance, lamp, rug, and blanket! It was the last bag set, rug, and lamp! There were no mobile’s either! I’m so glad I didn’t wait any longer! I definitely don’t regret it either.

Best part? Even though the bag alone was $199 I bought all the pieces pictured plus a bunch of other stuff and through my close out 10% discount, the sale going on with the bedding sets, and coupons I only paid $260 for it all! Score!

PaigeLauren has some really adorable clothing. If you’ve never heard of the brand before I’d recommend checking out their full website. I wasn’t familiar with the brand and hadn’t heard of them previously. The website really doesn’t do these pieces justice. Sure the kids look absolutely adorable in the clothes but what you don’t see is the quality, details, and the amazing softness I never expected.

I really do want to point out the softness of this gown. I’ve been buying baby clothes left and right for this little boy who will be here shortly and I can tell you this IS the softest piece in his wardrobe.

Few things on this gown that you can’t see or might miss just by checking out their website. This has mitts on the sleeves which makes it great for a new baby that you don’t want to scratch themselves. This gown isn’t flame resistant so it shouldn’t be used for sleepwear and the tag will clearly state that on it so you know.

The buttons are fully function if you needed to use them but with the nice elastic bottom you shouldn’t need too. It is a tight fit on the bottom so it won’t give too much of a breeze up it but enough pull that you can get it over baby’s head with ease. I can’t feel any bumps or buttons from the inside that would be up against baby’s skin other then a small tag near the bottom. Baby gets to feel exactly what you get to feel – pure softness.

Pediped has amazing shoes and my kids have been wearing them years. For Gavin they are well loved and have even saved his ankle from a break in the past! So of course with another baby on the way you can bet that I’m planning on making pediped our go to brand of shoes for when he’s ready to need shoes. pediped makes a great line of soft soled shoes too!

The shoes you see above are the Original Jax shoes in Navy! The Originals are the shoes that are sized for ages 0-24 months. They are a great prewalking shoe and even my now 11 year old learned to walk with pediped shoes on his feet! Boppy Infant Pillow Accessories Are A MUST! Review & Giveaway!

Boppy, I’m sure you’ve heard of them, right? It’s a brand I’ve used for all my kids. They started out with the infant pillow and it was a huge life saver! It’s more then 10 years later and once again Boppy is getting me through. This time around though they are SO much more then just a single pillow.

Last time I worked with The Boppy Company was during my annual Baby Event and I showcased the Total Body Pillow. I knew back then I’d love this pillow but what I didn’t know was how much! As you can see this pillow at 7 months pregnant is fluffy as can be. I’ve been using it for about 5 months and I couldn’t imagine not having it. The cover is washable and the fold in the middle is actually helpful. I twist and turn while I sleep and I swear the fold has been a saver point for the pillow while I twist it unknowingly.

I also received the Boppy Bare Naked Pillow last year and it came with this cute slipcover. I wasn’t pregnant yet and still in fertility treatments. I wanted to make sure I had a pattern that would work with either sex and this one was perfect.

You can see here in this picture that I had one of these awesome pillows waiting for Gavin. While he is a super cuddle bug now the first few months he actually didn’t care to be held. He loved to be close and loved to be a part of what was going on and see everything but not held. The Boppy pillow was a huge saver for me as it left me know he had a safe place to stay. By this time the Boppy Company had come out with the removable cover so I was also loving how easy it was to keep clean.

So, when I returned back to the company for this baby you can’t believe my excitement with all the new products they have just for the pillow alone. See, when Johnny was a baby you had to put the whole pillow in the wash if wanted it clean. Then with Gavin we had the removable cover which was great for everyday wear. I love the other print too but if baby dirties it I love knowing I have a backup until I can get laundry done. This one is great because it has a velour bottom.
