Wordless Wednesday – Sawyers Nursery Theme!

For weeks I’ve been talking about a specific nursery set for Sawyer. I technically already had a set but I was gender neutral and beige. The room I’ll be using cannot be painted or really decorated in anyway so it was going to leave the room really plain.

Problem?
I couldn’t talk hubby into it. It wasn’t a need and I was still in need of so many things. I got over my pouting and focused on the needs. I made a registry for my own use {which while being called tacky and presumptuous} was definitely useful. I was able to figure out everything I needed and wanted and put it together on one last. As I got things I was able to cross it off. Even if you’re like me and not receiving gifts I highly suggest the idea.

Then recently while gathering some nursery basics I saw my set was getting discontinued. When I asked about it I was told it wouldn’t be clearanced just not restocked as things were purchased. Of course I went into panic mode. I talked to hubby again and he still wasn’t on the same page as me. He didn’t see the point. The 9 piece set was $199 alone. The set did include the quilt, dust ruffle, 2 fitted sheets, diaper stacker, 3 piece wall art, and valance though.

So, what’s a girl to do?
I raided the house and listed a bunch on Craigslist. It’s amazing what you can accomplish when you put your mind to it. I was able to find the mobile clearanced at a different store for half price. I sold more then I needed and last Friday I was off to BRU and look what I cam home with!!!

I got the 9 piece bed bag (quilt, dust ruffle, 2 fitted sheets, diaper stacker, 3 piece wall art, and valance) a second valance, lamp, rug, and blanket! It was the last bag set, rug, and lamp! There were no mobile’s either! I’m so glad I didn’t wait any longer! I definitely don’t regret it either.

Best part? Even though the bag alone was $199 I bought all the pieces pictured plus a bunch of other stuff and through my close out 10% discount, the sale going on with the bedding sets, and coupons I only paid $260 for it all! Score!

B2B: Tea Collection $100 Gift Card Giveaway!

I was first introduced to Tea Collection in the spring. From the first moment the children’s clothing I purchased for Gavin arrived I was in love. Not only did I love the fact that I liked the clothing but I loved that Gavin did too! Many of the photos I’ve shared of him since have had one of these shirts on! You may even recognize that salamander one as it’s one of his favorites and he wears it constantly! He is even picked that shirt for the first day of school!

The quality of Tea Collection clothing is great! They have all held up to the hard playing Gavin does in them and the constant washings I’m giving them. The shirts haven’t faded and the salamander and guitar shirts have peeled off or even broken up at all.

Of course once I know what sex this baby is I’m going to want to let them wear Tea too! The baby clothes are absolutely adorable and I really hope I can try out some of the girl’s clothing because the little dresses are to die for! I know one of the first outfits I’d get for her would be this adorable Tori Shirred Neck Dress! The matching little bloomers sell me on it immediately!

I was so excited about being able to review some more items from Tea Collection but sad that I didn’t know the sex yet for the baby so after spending a bunch of time going through the boy’s clothing I stumbled across these new bento boxes! You can find them in the gifts section. These are sturdy, actually much more sturdy then I was expecting. I also got Gavin the Diez Stripe Jacket. I had my eye on it for quite awhile not. it was actually out of stock for awhile but when I called Tea (who was super friendly and helpful) they let me know it would be in shortly. I waited just a couple weeks and was excited to see it back in stock. It fits Gavin beautifully and I love that it can be dressed down or up and is perfect for school!

Children’s Clothing from Tea Collection Review and $50 Giveaway!

I admit I’m not much of a clothes shopper. It’s crazy, right? However, there is something about shopping for clothing for my kids. I love it. I avoid it because once I get going it can be dangerous. Tea Collection is an online website that sells children’s clothing and let me tell you they are so adorable! First things first let’s just say it’s a good thing I don’t have a girl. The girl’s clothing is so cute. They have fun bright colors and the styles are pretty original in the ways that the shirts and dresses are fitting.

Gavin was able to test out some of their boy’s clothing and we love the choices we went with. Narrowing down the choices was really hard. The quality is great and is holding up to all the abuse Gavin has been throwing at them from rolling in the dirt to dropping his lunch down the front. When deciding on what to get him I had a good idea on what I was going to pick but thought I’d get his opinion. He was set on me picking out the Guitarra Graphic Tee and the Lagarto Graphic Tee because he said they were “so cool” so I had to make sure to include them. I personally loved the Surfer Stripe Hoodie I knew with Gavin’s pretty blue eyes it would be perfect for him and I was right! He loves the hoodie and funny enough he generally wear it pulled up and on his head. I also really like a nice button up shirt and the El Born Tile Print Shirt is a nice shirt for getting dressy or for school.

No matter what you chose from Tea Collection I promise you will be happy! You can purchase the clothes I picked for:

El Born Tile Print Shirt $35.00
Surfer Stripe Hoodie $27.00
Lagarto Graphic Tee $21.00
Guitarra Graphic Tee $19.00

Pediped Footwear Adrian Shoes Review!

It’s no secret that my go to shoes for Gavin are Pediped Shoes. If you go through my website and look at all the photos of him I can promise you that 99% of the time he is wearing Pediped shoes. If you don’t see these shoes on him it’s generally because the weather wasn’t appropriate so we opted for rain boots or snow boots but every other time my son wears them.

All this school year he has been wearing the Jake Shoes in light brown. Last school year we had the Navy. I know it sounds crazy to only need one pair of shoes for an entire school season (and yes we use these outside of school too!) but they really take they abuse from my son and all he throws at him all while protecting his feet and letting them grow properly. Remember last year when he fell of the top of the fire pole and bruised his foot bone? His Dr. said if it had not been for his Pediped shoes he would have likely broken his foot! Wow! Thank goodness for that shock absorbing cushions heel!

So of course when the warm air blow in we don’t turn to another brand of shoes. With their adventure line of shoes you can still rock the style with the air between your toes. They have a great selection of colors so you can find one that best fits your child and know that when they are running around the park their feet are still protected! I really like the Amazon style and these would be perfect for Gavin! Being water-safe they would fit with everything we do all summer long!

In addition to the launch of the Spring/Summer collection, pediped® has launched the pediped® Foundation to support children’s causes. pediped® has always been committed to bettering the lives of children, and since 2008, pediped® footwear has given nearly $600,000 in cash and product donations to children’s charities. The establishment of the pediped® Foundation will help foster even more ways for pediped® to give back.

Not that we needed them because Gavin’s Jake Shoes still have plenty of wear and tear to give. We haven’t even removed the insert! You do know about the insert right? By removing the insert inside you can extend the fit. Since they will last any abuse it only makes sense to make them wear longer, right?

For a little bit of added style we are mixing in the Adrian Shoes. They still don’t have any laces so his independence is still intact and they look fabulous with everything he wears!

Machine Washable - These shoes are made with Clarino, a wash-and-wear fabric that’s virtually indestructible. Simply throw in the washing machine and air dry for perfectly clean shoes–how easy!

Soft & Flexible - Exceptionally soft, flexible soles and uppers help to provide healthy foot development. Ultra flexible FLEX ZONES provide maximum flexibility and support natural foot motion.

Heel Cushion - Shock absorbing cushions on each heel protect against impact and distribute pressure through-out the foot.

Flex Fit System - pediped Flex™ offer a unique fit system. Each pair comes with an additional 2mm insole to customize the fit so it just right for each child. If the child starts with both insoles, as the child’s feet grow the additional insoles may be removed to extend the length of time the child can wear the shoes.

You can purchase all the shoes mentioned above directly from Pediped. For the lastest in news and sales make sure to check them out on Twitter and Facebook too!
