Random Tuesday Thoughts

I haven’t done a Random Tuesday post since I was J. Leigh Designz and I don’t know why. It stopped randomly and I figured randomly it was time to start it back up again. If you’d like to join back in with me let me know :)

We didn’t have a white Christmas. Not a drop of snow. Now since the day after we’ve been buried in it. Last week we got over 2 FEETof snow in one night. One night. To make things even crazier it doesn’t stop there. Kids are home today from yet another storm. This storm stinks because it is 2 inches snow, 2 inches ice, repeat over and over again.

We made an ice rink in our back yard over the weekend. Of course right now its buried in snow and ice but it was a lot more work and a lot more tricky then we had planned.

I’m addicted to Netflix. I have always wanted to watch Grey’s Anatomy but when it started there was ER and O.C. Even DVR only lets you watch or record two shows at a time. I always planned on watching them from the start but didn’t know when. Then recently Netflix added the series to the Instant Queue and I’ve been out of the loop since. Let me tell you if you don’t watch the show you need to start. My personal warning: invest in tissues. You’ll bawl your eyes out every other episode. But it’s good, real good.

As you know I won an iPad and I’m ecstatic about it. Believe it or not I’m not using it as much as I’d like to but it is amazing for using netflix on. I bring it to bed when I can’t sleep and hubby needs to. Put in the headphones and the images are better then my big screen HD tv.

My facebook application won’t work. It keeps giving me some weird error message. Ever see this:

Notice I didn’t do a weekly goals post? I suck at goals. Why is that?

I did actually finish one of the goals though. My coupon binder! All of my coupons are in their spots and it is great to have it done. I made it a 1.5 inch binder and had to take my “stores” section out. I’m kinda lost without them so I’m going to need to get a bigger binder.

Random Tuesday Thoughts – CuhRazy!

Lately I have been flying high on the luck bus. I don’t know what Genie Lamp I rubbed but things are just going my way…which isn’t usually my luck!

Yesterday I had Energizer call me and tell me that they opened up one more $2000 Blogher Sponsorship spot to include me as one of their ChargHer girls! I about died. My kids looked at me like I went insane after getting off the phone and doing some crazy dance while yelling on my front porch for the neighbors to see. I don’t get cell reception in my house and I couldn’t wait to go back in so I just did it there. Johnny was rather embarrassed.

This morning I got an email to do a review and giveaway for an item I thought I’d never get that I’m going to really need someday! I’m not letting the cat out of the bag for that one just yet though ;)

Then I get an email telling me to check my twitter account because I won the Dress Barn $100 contest! Whoo Hoo! I don’t play the lottery but I may just have to buy a ticket on the way home!
~
Speaking of BlogHer, will you be there? I can’t believe I’ll be getting ready to go to NYC this time next week. If you’re going make sure to find me! I’ll have an awesome swag bag featuring Carolina Pad, Full BusyBodyBook Organizers, Paris Hiltons new scent, snacks & more! Plus they’ll be in a reusable tote bag you can grab for swag you get!

Over the weekend the Husband & I decided to go through the “fire shed”. What’s the fire shed? Well our family had a fire and we lost everything we owned to a fire. After the insurance adjusters and inventory people went through things we were allowed in before everything got taken away. I was a complete emotional wreck and anything that wasn’t charred or melted I could get my hands on went into that shed. This weekend I finally accepted the fact that just because it wasn’t deformed didn’t mean it wasn’t ruined and threw it all away. Without crying.
It felt good to finally let the last part of this tragedy in my life go.
~
On a positive note I didn’t realize at the time that I pulled melted frames and photos in there. Since some of the photos were in smoke damage rooms only properly stored in a closet they were salvage able. Maybe not frame perfect but to finally have a photo of my Johnny under the age of 4 brings me such happiness! It paid to take all the extra steps of taking care of all my photographs! Although the fire never reached that room the smoke and heat reached every room to the point where the fire actually pulled the nails out of the Sheetrock holding the walls up since they were “cold”.

Check out the pictures that totally cracked me up of myself!
This is me in 7th grade in a photo booth!

These are photos I thought I’d never see again. I love being able to look back and remember my body alone before kids HAHA! Not to mention all the cute pics of Hubby & I together as teenagers!

Random Tuesday Thoughts – Update!

I wanted to give you an update on me since I’ve kinda been all over the place these last couple of weeks. I know I’ve been severely behind in my emails but I am doing the best I can to catch up on them. The first week of July was my husbands only full week off of work all year and I wanted to really enjoy the time with my family. We spent a night in Mystic, CT which was a complete blast! I shared with you my review on the Mystic Aquarium, but I want to show you my non-sponsored post about Downtown too because it was so much fun!

A couple days later we took off to Hampton Beach, NH and I’ll be sharing a review with you for there shortly and of course a non-sponsored one too!(click on photos to see bigger pic)
If you’ve never been its a great New England strip perfect for family vacations! The view from our hotel balcony is above but don’t think there isn’t anything to do because this hotel sites on the boardwalk below as this is the side view from the hotel balcony!Gavin is just becoming more and more addicted to Mario these days! When we went to Boston we cleared Newbury comics out of all the Mario things we could find. Which really was just a Nintendo Monopoly & a Huge plastic movable Luigi!
Seriously? How cool is this?
We just got a Mario Costume in for review and Gavin won’t take it off. This is what he wants to wear…everywhere!
As many of you know our family had a death last week which hit us hard as not only was it unexpected but it was also the first close to home death we’ve experienced.

Saturday night we went out with friends for one of our close friends Jack&Jill….and yes, the hubby will be in this wedding too! Ugh! It was great seeing old friends. One of these girls was my BFF all through high school and we just lost touch once I had Johnny.

To my loyal readers I wanted to give you a heads up that THIS Friday I will be kicking off my Birthday Bash! I will be starting it with this great waterslide!
I promise I’ll be getting back on my toes this week! I posted two giveaways yesterday and I’ll be getting a bunch up this week so make sure to check in. Sorry to all of you who have been emailing me and trying to get a hold of me. I will be back on top of things shortly.

Random Tuesday Thoughts – Boating & Bandages

The other day we were playing outside and weeding our garden when we noticed this turtle walking up our driveway. Yes, I know not that uncommon but in our area this is not something you see everyday. In fact hardly ever. Needless the boys were so excited to find it. We brought it out into our woods near a stream so it would be safe.
We finally made it out on the river this past weekend. We anchored in at the beach and hung out with Hubs family there. It’s not really summer until we hit the boats. We took my in laws boat out since it can fit us all. I can’t wait to take our boat out still. It’s just been sitting there. Of course when you have a little one with stitches its not to east for them to remember that they can’t get them wet. I put a sport band-aid on it in hopes to keep some of the water and sand out and surprisingly he didn’t pull at it at all. Trying to keep him on shore was another issue in its self. Luckily its almost time to take them out!
Johnny is like a fish in water. Lives for it. He doesn’t come out until forced. His skin shriveled beyond a prune. Yes, we are those parents that never let our kids out of life jackets. Not even when playing in the shallow waters or sitting on the parked boat for lunch. SO you’ll almost never find a picture of them without them.
I’m a flip flops gal! End of story! So why oh why must I continue to have to wear these?
We’ve been social butterflies lately and it’s required a bit of dressing up. I seriously can’t understand how you ladies wear these things because you want to wear them. Although, they are really cute!
The Birthday Bash items have started arriving! This is one of the boxes from a table that will make it easy for the kids to sit together!
Things are going to be crazy busy around here for the next few months! We have so many things and events planned. Some I’ll even be sharing on my site!
Stay tuned for a ‘Place To Go’ tab joining the tabs above.
