Cesar Cookie Crunchies Make Great Treats For Puppy Training!

In February we brought home a puppy and we were so excited. Considering I was nine months pregnant at the time we were also crazy! We wanted to try and train him as fast as we could so when the baby came our hands wouldn’t be too full. Neither of us were experienced dog owners and really didn’t know what we were doing. We knew he needed to be rewarded when he did what we asked and that we needed to find a good dog treat to keep him entertained.

We learned that when shopping for treats for small dogs was you really had to read the packaging. It’s amazing how many treats cannot be feed to puppies! I also worried that all the treats we were giving him were going to make him over weight or he would be getting his calories from the wrong source.

When I was asked if I had interest in reviewing the new dog treats from Cesar I jumped at the opportunity more because I felt like I was constantly buying treats and thought it would be nice to have some new ones around. We’re still fully training Charlie and need small treats still.

When the treats came in we ripped the packaging open immediately and tossed one Charlies way and he gobbled it right up. When I found out that each treat was only 10 calories I was thrilled. I was also thrilled that when the boys got carried away and wanted to practice over and over again we could even break the treats into smaller pieces if needed.

We love our new addition and love being able to spoil him the way he spoils us without worrying of the harm we could be causing. I also really love that they are easily able to get on our regular shopping trips and won’t break the bank. Charlie loves the taste and we couldn’t be happier! Pick up a bag of Cesar Cookie Crunchies on your next trip!

Glad Black Bag & Recycled Art Auction @GladWildLife

Trash, it’s a dirty job and someone has to do it. Luckily that someone isn’t me. That someone is my eleven year old son who doesn’t always think when it comes to cramming stuff in and closing it properly. He’s also know for whipping the bag around and having it begin leaking before he gets out the door to put it in the garage.

Lately, we’ve been using the Glad Black Bags with ForceFlex and he’s been much luckier getting the bag out of the house in one piece. The ForceFlex allows him to fill the bag with everything that needs to go in it even it it’s near full and want to add a large container or awkward pizza box. I like it because I know we have a better chance of getting him out the door without needing to wash down the walls or floor when he’s done.

Now how interesting would it be to take your trash and turn it into pieces of art? Well, that’s what happened when Gald partnered with Jason Mercier to create some amazing pieces of art.

Life gets wild (& messy) – it’s inevitable.

That’s why Glad® Black Bag is turning trash into works of art. In this case, celebrity trash. In turn, we’re encouraging you to rethink what is done with the items that get broken amidst your everyday — or not so everyday — wild life.

As proud partners of Keep America Beautiful, we’ve helped clean-up communities for 27 years. Now this Earth Month, we’re auctioning original pieces of upcycled art made from remnants of wild life moments.

Glad has partnered with acclaimed artist Jason Mecier to create custom artwork from the would-be trash of Hollywood stars, including actress Amy Smart, actor Jesse Eisenberg, reality star Lauren Conrad, actress Emmanuelle Chriqui of “Entourage,” Parks & Recreation’s Nick Offerman, actress Megan Mullally, Dancing with the Stars’ Chelsie Hightower, and “iCarly’s” Nathan Kress. In addition, we’ve tapped Great American Cleanup™ volunteers to submit unique finds from cleanup events across the country.

Bid on these original works of upcycled art between April 16 and 26, 2012. Auction proceeds benefit Keep America Beautiful and its mission to engage individuals to take greater responsibility for improving their community environments.

No matter how wild life gets, cleanups are in the bag with Glad Black Bag.

Get Wild, Get Creative and Upcycle, Bid Today. It’s a small step we can all take to waste less… even us wild ones!

Crest and Oral-B Pro-Health Clinical Plaque Control Follow-Up #CrestSponsored Win trip to the London 2012 Olympic Games!

As you know earlier this month I was asked to participate Crest and Oral-B Pro-Health Clinical Challenge. I had been using some of the products already but some were also new for me too!

Pro-Health Clinical Olympic Games Sweepstakes

Crest and Oral-B invite you to enter the Pro-Health Clinical Olympic Games Sweepstakes for the chance to win trip to the London 2012 Olympic Games, and also enter into a weekly drawing to receive the full product line. To enter the sweepstakes visit www.crestoralbclinical.com/olympicgamessweeps. The sweepstakes began on March 15th and will run through May 31st. No purchase necessary. Void where prohibited.

Crest is already by far the only oral brand of tooth paste I’m willing to buy. We just don’t like how any of the other brands leave our mouths. My husband luckily feels the very same way. We both enjoyed all the products that were sent.

We both were glad to have been sent the Crest Pro-Health Clinical Plaque Control Toothpaste because we had tried it in the past and we weren’t fond of the taste as it’s not the same as the regular Crest. This time around it wasn’t the taste we had remembered. We liked the way that these products left our mouth when we were done. The combination of them all left our mouth feeling clean and fresh. The mint aftertaste was good and I felt less self conscious of my morning coffee breath. Actually that fresh breath lasted for hours and made my mouth feel clean all morning long.

We’ll definitely  continue to purchase both Crest and Oral-B products. You can find the products at any drugstore or super center. If you check your weekend paper you’ll often coupons you can use too!

jcpenney Portrait Studio {April Promotion} Photography Tips Too!

Now, I’ll admit right from the start- I’m no professional. It’s taken a lot of practice and a bunch of trial and error before getting the pictures I like. Regardless if you have a simple point & shoot or a professional DSLR you can get good photos. It’s just being willing to step out of the normal posed shots and trying something new and not being afraid to fail.

I’ve really been enjoying all the extra pictures I take while practicing and love looking back. Here are a few tips I’ve learned to get the photos you want.

Candid.

Candid photos are often some of my favorite. Only in candids can you truly lock in that moment and the emotion. For example in the photo below I love seeing the excitement of my older boys when they meet their new brother for the very first time. The topper for me is seeing how proud my husband is in the background watching it all.

Get Help.

Sometimes you need help. Don’t be afraid to ask! I love taking photos of Sawyer in the tub but we all know how fast a situation can go bad… I have a precious child and an expensive camera- neither of which I want to drop! By bringing in an extra set of hands I can get the pictures I want while being safe.

Keep Going.

I fell in love with all the Easter photos that I took of Sawyer. In the end I had about five good ones that I absolutely adored. In reality though I took a good forty shots in order to get those five.

Details.

Some of my favorite photos haven’t included faces. Make sure to pay attention to the whole picture and you’ll end up with unique photos that you’ll back on and be happy you took.

Pets.

I love taking pictures of my Charlie. Getting his attention can sometimes be difficult though. I’ve learned when you’re trying to get a good shot make sure your alone. Charlie is easily distracted and if anyone walks into the room I’ve lost him. I’ve also found that having a treat near the lens can help make sure he is looking right where I want him to.

Bad Pics Happen.

We all get home and go through our photos and say Ugh. I never got that good shot. Sure, it’s disappointing but it happens to us all. Don’t let it get to you just keep trying. Plus, if you are taking shot after shot a few bad ones are okay if you get the shot you want in the end.

Of course no matter how many photos I take I still love taking our age milestone photos by professionals at the studio. It allows me to hand photos to all of our family without breaking the bank as they often run some great promotions. For example right now jcpenney Portrait Studios are running an April Promotion where you can get $20 for 6 traditional portrait sheets (mix and match size and images) as well as one free $9 sitting fee. This is a great opportunity for our family to go and get our first family portrait now that Sawyer has joined our family.

I was asked to create a Pinterest Board and pin at least five (5) pins. I give jcpenney the right to repin any or all images/original content from this board.
