My Little Monster.

I forgot how much fun it is to put a little baby in a costume. Johnny was giraffe and Gavin was a skeleton. With Sawyer I wanted something that was still super adorable but something that could handle our crazy autumn weather here in New England. If it was cool I could put a sweatshirt underneath nothing but a onesie. I went to Wholesale Halloween Costumes when it came time to find something … [Read more...]

Baby + Pumpkin = Adorable Baby Photography

A few months ago someone posted a picture of their child last year sitting in a pumpkin and I was sold. I was immediately searching the pages of Etsy knowing I needed a cute little hat for him. Then I had to find a pumpkin big enough for him. I found two. The boys found them before I got to them and went and carved them on me so Hubby went out and got us a new one and had it all gutted and ready … [Read more...]

Fun Valentine’s Day Craft Projects

This weekend I'll be having some Valentine's Day fun with the boys! We have a cake we're planning on baking and some fun arts & crafts planned. We need to get a start on the kids classroom valentine's and get some decor up. I've totally dropped the ball on this holiday and it's very unlike me but between getting sick and the surgery I've just been chasing my own tail these days. Here are some … [Read more...]

Christmas Questionnaire 2011

1.) Have you started your Christmas shopping? I'm done. I should be as it's three days away. I've been done for awhile though. 2.) Tell me about one of your special traditions. I buy the kids Christmas themed jammies and wash them and wrap them. The night before Christmas they get to open them and go to bed in new cozy fleece jammies. 3.) When do you put up your Tree? We put it up … [Read more...]

Make Your Own Glittered Ornaments! DIY!

Last year I ended up with extra red garland from my tree that I didn't need and didn't want it to go to waste. I cut it in half and decided they were the perfect length to twirl around my curtain rods. My regular curtains in the living room are green colored so it made them look really festive. I thought adding red glittery ornaments would be the perfect touch but the problem was when Christmas … [Read more...]

Chocolate Tree Bark #Recipe

For years my step mother has been making this chocolate bark that has been to die for. Last week I spent the day with her and we did a ton of baking for the holidays and she agreed to let me share her recipe. It keeps in the freezer so essentially you could make this one WAY in advance before the craziness of the holidays hit.  Doesn't this look good? This is the peanut butter version? … [Read more...]

Valentine’s Day Cupcake Ideas with Wilton

As you already know my favorite thing to bring to snack for Gavin's class is cupcakes. Finding new ways to decorate them and showcase each holiday is always a favorite part of the process for me. You'll never see me turn down a chance to make the perfect cupcake. First of course you need to start with cupcakes. In the spirit of Valentine's Day I made strawberry cupcakes. I used Wilton's … [Read more...]

Chocolate Candied Brownies for Valentine’s Day

Last week when I made the Heart Shaped Fudge Brownies they were such a success that I couldn't help but start going through the pages of Wilton's Brownie Fun book for new ideas. They have so many ideas and uses for brownies that I don't know how I'm ever going to go back to working with cake. I love when Wilton puts all their ideas together in their books. Not only is it inspiring but I love … [Read more...]

Johnny’s Halloween Spooktacular Birthday Party!

Saturday night we celebrated Johnny's 10th birthday with his friends. His actual birthday isn't for a couple of weeks but he really wanted to have his friends over (we normally have his party out of the home). We decided a Halloween party would be lots of fun and hopefully before the cold came so we could have it in our garage. Luckily for us Saturday remained fairly cool (well compared to … [Read more...]
