Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream In A Bag Recipe & Curious Chef Giveaway

Review Disclosurer

My kids and I have been living it up this summer! I love having them both home all day and planning fun things for us to do. After a long morning of playing outside in the sun, we love to come inside and have frozen treats to cool off. Our favorite treat is Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream in a bag. It only takes about 15 minutes to make and my kids can help with every step of it.

Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream in a bag uses just a few ingredients, I usually always have them on hand. In a sandwich size baggie, we add cream and/or half & half, sugar, and vanilla. I prefer to use part heavy whipping cream and part half & half, but we use whatever I might have in the fridge. We have used all whipping cream and all half & half both with good results.

Next, you put the sandwich bag into a gallon size bag and fill it with crushed ice and ice cream salt. Make sure both baggies are sealed tight and then shake them up! Shake, roll, or toss them for about 10 minutes. My kid’s hands get really cold so I give them a towel to wrap the bag up and shake.

Before you know it your ice cream is ready to eat! Curious Chef has the perfect Ice Cream Set Gift Bundle. The set comes with 4 large colorful bowls that are just the right size. I really like that they have handles on the sides to hold onto. The set also comes with 4 small silicone pinch bowls to hold all your favorite ice cream toppings and a kid-sized ice cream scoop. The ice cream scoop’s ergonomically designed handle with grip buttons makes this kitchen gadget easy for small hands to firmly grasp and use.

My whole family has loved this Curious Chef set, and it has been perfect for summer. One of my other favorite summer time frozen treats is a nice cold root beer float! Curious Chef also has Root Beer Float Mug Set that is so fun.

It comes with six 20 oz brightly colored mugs. They have a large handle, and just like the ice cream set bowls they are BPA free, and dishwasher safe. These mugs will be perfect to have a root beer float party. Root beer floats are one of my favorite desserts to serve when we have guests over.
