Better For You Back to School Snacks from Snikiddy and Barbara’s {Review}

Uh, y’all….can you believe July is just about over?!  August is days away and summer is ending way too quickly!  Hayden is starting Kindergarten this up coming school year.   When he gets home from school I want to be prepared to fill his hungry tummy!  Two brands asked me to test out their products for some new back to school snack ideas.  Both Snikiddy and Barbara’s have the same great taste of traditional flavored snacks or chips, but are yummy kid-friendly snacks without artificial and unhealthy ingredients.

Snikiddy Baked Fries

Snikiddy Baked Fries – Available in 1.5 oz. bags, these snacks are made with non-GMO ingredients, are certified gluten and wheat free and do not contain any artificial colors, preservatives, high-fructose corn syrup, trans fat, hydrogenated oils or MSG. In flavors like Cheddar Cheese, Barbeque and Sea Salt, this delicious snack delivers all of the flavor of traditional fries with half the fat!

These were pretty darn good. I was sent the flavors Cheddar Cheese and Hot n Spicy.  I preferred the Hot n’ Spicy flavor with the little bit of kick it had.  Hayden liked the cheddar cheese flavor.  Snikiddy Baked Fries would be a great alternative to greasy and fatty potato chips.  They will be super quick and easy to throw into his lunches.

Barbara’s is “committed to create simple, wholesome, and delicious products with the most honest ingredients.”  I was really excited to try out Barbara’s because I had never heard of the brand before.  I used the store locator and found them at only one local grocery store chain near me.  The only products I could find at my store were Barbara’s Puffin’s cereal and Barbara’s Fig Bars Raspberry.

Barbara's Baked Goods

We aren’t big cold cereal eaters at my house.  I usually make some hot breakfast for my family, but there are some mornings a bowl of cold cereal is the only option for everyone’s sanity and hungry tummies.  Barbara’s Puffin’s cereal is a lightly sweetened, wheat-free, crunchy pillows of yummy corn, multi grains, or honey-flavored rice.  I picked up a box of both cinnamon and peanut butter Puffins.  They were really yummy and my whole family loved both flavors.  I also threw some in a snack holder for a quick snack for my kids while we ran errands.  I love that Puffins are low in sugar, low in fat, have natural fiber, no GMO’s, and are kosher.

I also picked up a package of Barbara’s Fig Bar Raspberry at the grocery store.  I was beside myself excited to try Barbara’s Fig Bars.  I love raspberry anything, and delicious fig bars remind me of being a kid and going to my great grandma’s house. She always had them on her counter in a super cool cookie jar.  They were right next to her rotary phone that I thought was amazing!  Barbara’s Fig Bar’s didn’t disappoint.  They were sooo good and I was reminiscing about my great grandma.  My kids also loved them.  They have ZERO grams of sugar, fat free, low sodium, no GMO’s,  and have whole grains.  They are a great sweet treat for my entire family.

Barbara’s has a bunch of great wholesome and natural snacks.  I am hoping my grocery store gets more of their products.  I know my kids would love to try the Snackimals animal crackers.

Hope y’all are loving your last few weeks of summer!

    I think the Puffins are so good, and so do my kids. I would love to try the Baked Fries, they remind me of potato sticks.
