{Wordful Wednesday} Sports

I’m so late, I know. Yesterday we mourned the loss of my husbands grandfather and quite honestly by the time I got home from the day I was exhausted and turning on my computer was not happening.

Around here it’s a good thing I don’t have to turn my laptop on during the weekends either as they have become completely overtaken by the boys sports programs.

Gavin isn’t thrilled with basketball but he made a basket so he’s temporarily loving it.

Johnny is just loving his team right now. This year his coach is all about learning and teamwork which I think makes a huge difference when all last year they cared about was winning. It’s made him a great player.

It’s hard though for him with all his time in sports. He’s also on an indoor soccer team. Last season they placed 1st in the whole league. Its SO much fun to watch.

Next month both boys will start swimming too!

Great pictures and I know how you feel. Shaun starts lacrosse in March then football camp starts in June and practice begins in August which is 5 days a week 2 hours a night.

    Happy WW!

  3. Great captures! My daughter is in basketball for the 5th year and now is starting track and maybe band in the summer! Hectic schedule!

  4. I am so sorry for the loss of your husband’s grandfather!

Sports are fun! Hopefully Gavin changes his mind about not loving basketball.

WOO good for Gavin. He might learn to love it though

I am so sorry for your loss.

Hopefully he really start enjoying the sports. Maybe after a little time to make friends 😀

Sports do make for a busy schedule, but it’s worth it for sure. I know I already said it on FB, but I’m sorry about your husband’s grandfather.

  8. I’m so sorry for your families loss. I remember those busy sports weekends with my brother. They were so much fun!

  9. So sorry for your loss.

I know it gets super busy when the sports start up… but love the sweet memories.

  10. Oh girl, I know how that is. When we lost my husband’s good friend the other day. We went to the hospital the night before he died you either don’t want to turn on the computer or just dive into it if you know what I mean. Totally understand that one. Sports huh… well, my kids really weren’t into that. I tried to get my youngest son in baseball, but he ran like a girl… yes, and now he’s bigger than all four kids and gruffer I guess you would say! Gavin really is into it? That’s great. It teaches a child so very much too don’t you think?

  11. You know, it’s so wonderful to hear that both of your boys are so active and involved with activities! So many kids these days aren’t and that’s where health issues start to present themselves. I bet you enjoy cheering both of them on, too 🙂

I’m so sorry to hear about your hubby’s grandfather. My condolences to you and your whole family.

  12. Love the pics! Mine are also active so I know how busy it can get!

  13. awww yay! My six year old tried first grade basketball this year, first time. Found out he much prefers shooting hoops with me in the Summer at the courts downtown than actually playing basketball as a sport. He loves soccer in the Fall though! Sad, because I love watching kids play basketball!

  14. How fun! My dude is only 3 but he’s already obsessed with soccer {well, the lets-kick-a-ball-and-run version they teach 3 year olds} so I know I have that to look forward to & I’m excited!! Sorry to hear about your husband’s grandfather. <3

I’m so sorry for your loss! Since we moved my boys haven’t been playing any sports, but I just got home information for Spring sports. To me, at our boys’ age, it’s important for them to build the teamwork and learning…that whole focus only on winning irks me!

Sports are time consuming aren’t they? My son loves it though, and it does keep him active
