Bucket List 2013

I’ve been trying to do more blog hopping lately and when I read post called 13 Things I want to Do on FoodFamilyFinds.com I started thinking about some of the things I want to do this year.

2013 Bucket List:

1.) Clean my craft room. I’ve been saying this basically since I started blogging. It’s been consumed by blog products and at times the floor isn’t even visible. That room would even qualify me for the show Hoarders.

2.) Get My Blog Monetized. You would think I would have done that by now but there isn’t a whole lot of ads going on. I should be taking advantage of offers and ad networks and I’m not.

3.) Lose weight. I’m not talking about a few pounds either. I’m talking like 50 or more.

4.) Send cards. Like birthday and anniversary cards. Holiday and just because cards. I’m horrible at doing this but over the holidays I asked everyone for the dates and made sure my addy’s were up to date.

5.) Learn how to use my DLSR. As in get out of auto. I have no clue how to use any of the functions and I want to.

6.) Learn Photoshop. I got the program for Christmas and I can’t wait to get time to really learn how to use it. I’m more of a learn by showing, not learn by reading so this should be interesting.

7.) Get professional family photos. I haven’t had a family photo taken professionally (and not done very well) since it was just Johnny. I wanted to wait until Sawyer was walking to do them.

8.) Make more photobooks. I have tried so many ways to organize my photos. In 2012 I started by printing every single photo I took. If you know me you know it got pricey fast. In a month I could take enough to fill several photo albums and it just wasn’t working. Then I made a photobook from Shutterfly from our recent trip and I love how it turned out. I’m going to start making more of these- and not just of trips!

9.) Sleep more. If we’re facebook friends you know it’s a running joke about how I run off very little sleep. Often only getting 3-4 hours a night. Now that we have a new Sleep Number mattress I want to use it more!

10.) Play & Get Dirty. I miss out on so much because I put too much on my plate or I don’t want to get dirty. This year I need to make my kiddos more of a priority. They are only small for so long and dirt washes easily.

11.) Meet my friends – Solo. I hardly ever see my friends yet every Friday my husband goes out. Nothing big usually just a friends garage. I need to do these things. I need to get out too. I just always include my kids. I need to leave the kids for a few hours every month and get out with a friend. I have a movie date with a friend this week to watch ‘This is 40’ and it should be fun!

12.) Grow More. I need to be serious about my gardens this summer and plant with what will produce the best and what stores the best. We’ve been experimenting a lot the past few years and last year we got these bugs and lost it all. This year I need to be able to do enough to freeze through this time next year.

13.) Be More Frugal. In 2012 I obtained all the things I needed in order to be as frugal as possible. This year I need to apply them. I want to coupon more and stock my shelves back up and when I buy to buy in bulk in freeze as much as possible.

What’s on your bucket list for this year?

  1. Great list!

There are several on here that I need to be better at as well including getting to know my DSLR and sending cards. I have a few friends/family that send cards for anything and everything and I’m certain I piss them off because I just don’t think of those things or I don’t take the time to do them. It really isn’t a big deal to me but it might be to them and I should be more thoughtful.

Good luck in achieving all your goals!!! You can do it!

I love your list and find myself agreeing with a lot of it. We’ve done a bucket list of the kids summer vacations the past few years (they love it). I definitely need to learn how to use my new camera this year. I also want to do better with my garden this year, we had a great garden last spring (except my herbs, they were duds for some reason) but our fall garden was awful and I don’t know why. I’d also love to get back into couponing this year and just doing better with our budget all around – not that it was bad last year, but I could have done better with grocery shopping and meal planning. And I’d love to get back into crafting & sewing this year.

Great ideas. I do a 365 book on shutterfly each year ( although am switching to snapfish). I take one picture a day for the year. It’s a lot of work but fun. And easy if you have a good photo app on your phone. And send cards has been one of my resolutions forever. I love getting cards but am terrible about sending them. Good luck with your list! Oh, and try My Fitness Pal app for weight loss. It’s free and really helpful for logging in what you eat and how many calories you burn. No shortcuts or easy solutions – just a way to lose weight the regular old way. I have lost about 35 pounds post baby and I have a friend who lost over 140. It really works.

  7. I have a few of these on my to do.. You have turned me on to shutterfly and I’m so addicted – Did I tell you I got Mikalyee’s books I ordered? Yep, I cried for like 20 minutes looking at them.. lol

  8. Sounds like a plan to me girlfriend. Now stick to it. You owe it to you! All work and no play makes who a very dull girl????

  9. Enjoy the movie date with your friend. Ought to be fun. I used to scrapbook my photos. I’d spend hours decorating the pages and telling stories with the photos. It’s been a few years since I’ve done it and I miss it. Not to mention that I now have a mass amount of photos piled up.
I received a DSLR a month ago and know little about it. Would like to learn more on how to use the expanded features.
