The Bronx Zoo

Sorry I’m later then usual. Just got back from the Bronx Zoo where I was a parent chaperone for the 5th grade field trip there. We had such an awesome day and while it was nice to spend a day with just Johnny it was a long first day without Sawyer. I still have tons of photos to go through but wanted to share these for now.

  1. Aww, I’m bummed Sawyer couldn’t go to the zoo, but I bet you had fun with Johnny!

Those pictures are AMAZING!! Are you really that close to them, or did you use a zoom lens?

  2. What great photos! Wow, that zoo looks SOOO nice. Your photos look almost like you caught the animals out in the wild.

  3. Very cool pictures! I love all of them!

These are great pics! It looks like a fun day.

  5. Awww Those are some really great pics! Naturally the baby’s pic is the best.

  6. I’m so jealous- of all of the animals you posted, our zoo only has a lion, and she’s in a cage, within a pen, within a gated enclosure, so you can’t even see her as there’s three gates in the way. Boo.

  7. Beautiful photos! It looks like everyone must have had a great time!

  8. Great photos!! Take today to relax with that sweet little bundle!

  9. The kids must have loved it. I used to go the The Bronx Zoo a lot when i was a kid, but I haven’t gone in years. Or more like decades.

  10. It looks like my kind of field trip!

Then and Now… Ready for Summer!

I love going on field trips with my kids. I found myself splitting my time with the 2 this year since hubby is overseas. It makes me think of when I was younger and how my Aunt or Mom would come on our field trips and my Aunt always packed the best lunch.

  25. Love the pictures Jennifer! It sounds like you had such a fun day!

  26. Great photos!!

  27. How fun being a tag along!
I haven’t been to the zoo in forever, so it’s nice to live vicariously through your pictures 🙂

Wow, Jennifer (from another Jennifer!) your pics are beautiful! The Bronx Zoo is the only zoo around here (I’m in NJ) I would ever take my kids to because they have the animals in natural habitats and that’s what I wanted to teach my kids was the only acceptable way to keep wild animals who really should be free! I’m glad you had such a good time…….not sure if you know this, but you can join the Bronx Zoo and also get access with the subscription to the Central Park Zoo, the Aquarium, and special events at the Bronx Zoo (as well as tickets for free rides there, etc….which are pricey otherwise). I took my kids to the Halloween and Christmas events, they LOVED them. They light up the zoo with lights at night and only members can come (cuts down on the crowds!) Also there is a “free admission” day at the Zoo….but CROWDED!
