Wordless Wednesday! Let’s Get Productive!

We spent the long weekend being incredibly productive around here. It all started with this fridge. We had friends buy a new house and ask hubby to help them with a few projects. Their new place is over an hour away so it turned into a few overnight stays to help them out. They knew we were in the market for a new fridge for our garage and thought they’d thank us with this awesome fridge that way in their new place that they didn’t need. Of course Hubs loves the blue cans they filled it with!

Hubby cleaned t all up and got it hooked up and I’m in love. This fridge is so much more then we expected for our garage and I’m super excited about it. In the summer we do a lot of outdoor entertaining and this will be really helpful and keep us from having to make a million trips back and forth. It will help all winter long with coupon deals too!

The fridge got Hubby motivated and he took off to Home Depot. He came back and surprised me by putting the shelves in one of the downstairs closets I’ve been wanting for four years. This closet is really going to help me clean out and organize through some stuff. You can’t tell but it’s pretty good size and goes over about another foot. I’ll be able to put a lot of my Wilton supplies in here and clear my pantry of a lot of small kitchen appliances I don’t use on a regular basis. The stain still needs to set. Hubby said I should wait a week. It’s hard to be patient!

The next day we woke up and said we needed to keep going. Johnny had been wanting out of his bunk bed for months but we knew it was going to be a project. The desk under his bed stored a lot for him and we weren’t sure what to do with it all. We purged his room right before the holiday and it was the perfect time. We disassembled the bed and got him the box spring and frame and he’s back down at a normal height and loving it. I love it too as I don’t have to climb a ladder to check on him!

I didn’t really do much with the bed so I thought since they needed me on a call ‘as needed’ basis I would clean the bathroom in the room next door so I was close by. Well, when I looked under the sink for cleaner I realized it was time to do something about the mess I let happen. Sadly, so many of the bottles were almost empty and the bath toys were yucky and needed to be tossed.

I use one of the drawers for supplies like sponges, trash bags, and gloves. It was a mess and I realized I just needed to attack it all. I threw out all that needed to go and organized the things that were staying. I was even able to put a large bin under the sink that had been kicked around the room twice over.

In the end I didn’t just attack all the drawers but the two cabinets and closet too. It really does pay to have a few bins on hand because when you want them it’s nice to have them on hand. I could have used a few other sizes but I’m really happy with the outcome.

We’ve decided that next weekend we’re going to spend a day doing it again. This time we’re attacking the soon to be baby room. It’s really the master bathroom off the side of our bedroom. We never finished it (like so many things) and it’s just sheet rock and floor boards. For now it will work since we don’t have another bedroom. We just need to get it from looking like a storage room and more like a bedroom!
