OxiClean Saved The Day!

Weekends are jammed packed for us these days. They aren’t the relaxing summer kind but the action packed kind. Now that both kids are playing soccer we are usually jumping from field to field. Gavin loves to play it but not so much on watching it. Johnny is on a traveling competitive team and the games last almost two hours. I’ve learned that it’s imperative to have something to occupy Gavin because a lot of the fields we travel to don’t have playgrounds nearby.

Gavin loves to color so we have a gallon storage bag of colored pencils, coloring books, and a big blanket he can stretch out on that stays in the car for him. Problem? Well, here in New England we’ve been struggling with massive amounts of rain. Often times the fields and grounds are soaked. Last weekend we thought the sidelines were more dry then they were and quickly realized that every time Gavin moved on the blanket he was digging the white bottom into the grass and mud. By the time I pulled it out to wash I thought for sure I was never going to get the stains out.

Then I remembered that Mom Central had sent me a big tub and some OxiClean. I was going to test my son’s uniform from that same day but his uniform was red and I thought nothing more challenging then a WHITE blanket.

I had never used OxiClean before so I had no clue what to expect or how to use it. The directions on the back of the tub couldn’t be easier to read and understand. It was practically done as a picture book so reading wasn’t even needed. You have your powdery soap and then there are also these little blue pieces as well.

To make it super easy I did this all right in the tub so there was no mess. I put my OxiClean into the tub and then added warm water about 1/2 way. I then made sure the water was mixed well with the soap with my hand. I put the blanket in and swished it around and then added more water. I made sure the soap got to the whole blanket and then let it soak for several hours.

When I pulled the blanket out the water was gross. It was dark brown. I washed the blanket afterwards with nothing but Wisk detergent and Downy softner and look at how white the blanket is again! I made sure that you see the whole blanket including it’s backside pattern so you see I didn’t switch blankets or use bleach.

I honestly believe had I just washed it in my washer there would have been stains all over the blanket. I love knowing my blanket looks brand new now when I use it next. I partly even think it looks even brighter then it has in a long time. Like new!

I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of OxiClean and received OxiClean items to facilitate my review and a promotional item to thank me for taking the time to participate.

Wow, that really is amazing! OxiClean has had a permanent place in my laundry room for a while, but my new tub of the improved formula just reaffirmed my love for it!

    Great post!

Amazing! What a huge difference! I definitely need to start using this on my grandson’s clothing. He’s a toddler now and boy does he get messy!

  3. I love OxiClean! It did an amazing job on your blanket. It works great on my sons’ baseball pants, too!

My Mom swears by this stuff and uses it to clean antique linens she sells in her antique booth. She says it can get out anything!

This stuff really does work. It got some really bad stains out of our baby clothes (combined w/ sun drying).
