Gummy Lump – Wooden Workbench by Melissa & Doug {Review & Giveaway}

Have you checked Gummy Lump out yet? Its a great online shop that has a great line up of quality educational toys from Melissa & Doug, Alex, Guidecraft, and more! All the brand names that my kids and I have come to love all in one convenient stop!

I’m sure your asking yourself what is a Gummy Lump?!?! I know I did. I was so glad that they told us all about the name of the company and the really great story that lies behind it. To read it yourself…click here.

As you are well aware a LOT of toys come into this house. My 9 year old son is a blessing in building everything that requires building. He often will complain about how poor the directions are and the amount of pieces, etc. We were both extremely impressed with the clear directions and properly labeled pieces on this Wooden Workbench by Melissa & Doug! I had to share with you from start to finish!

At first glance it looks incredibly overwhelming with the amount pf pieces that come out of such a small box.

But look close and see how each and every piece has a sticker with a letter on it.
And notice how none of the pieces have the same letter! These pieces are all actually fun pieces that you can play with once you have the workbench together. The quality of these pieces are as good as they get.
Even the hardware is separated and labeled really well!
First your going to assemble the lower tray at the base of the workbench.
Next your going to attach the front and back legs.
Attach the uppers.
Attach cross bases for support.
Attach the three upper planks.
The holes on the table are great for Gavin to bank his nuts and bolts into.
Attach the tool holder.
Slots fit the wooden tools included well.
Attach vice.
The vice is really cute and adds a great look to the workbench but almost none of the pieces that Gavin plays with fit in the vice.
It comes with a great building book, complete with photos for projects to make with all the pieces included. This book is great and both Johnny and Gavin have fun building these together.
Like this motorcycle.
Overall this workbench is great. The quality is amazing and I truly believe that the life of it will surpass Gavin’s use. It comes complete with many pieces for the kids to play with. The only changes I would make is to include a tool box. Gavin doesn’t like storing pieces on the bottom tray so they often build up and allow the vise to open far enough that the pieces can fit in.
This Wooden Workbench by Melissa & Doug is one of Gavin’s favorite new toys! He spends lots of time building ideas out of the book and completely on his own. This would make a great gift for any child!
You can purchase the Wooden Workbench by Melissa and Doug for $99.99 on sale for $79.99 at Gummy Lump!
