Vtech MobiGo Touch Learning System {Review & Giveaway}

Vtech has a new toy in the works. It’s called the MobiGo Touch Learning System and it will be available in August of 2010!

MobiGo Touch Learning System – Ages 3 to 8 years

Young learners mimic Mom and Dad with their very own touch-screen learning system. Major fun meets classic school skills to create the perfect edu-gaming experience.

Touch-screen: MobiGo’s touch-screen technology adds a modern twist to electronic learning games, so kids learn while mimicking the way parents use touch-screen devices.
Educational games: From fishing, coloring book pages, drawing and playing instruments, kids can discover a wide variety of fun and engaging learning games.
Learning skills: MobiGo teaches a wide range of skills including math, vocabulary, spelling, logic and categorization. The slide open QWERTY keyboard introduces older kids to text typing skills.
Portable: Handheld robust gaming console makes learning fun on the go for little hands and is equipped with headphone and AC adapter jacks.

I love the packaging the chose for the toy. It’s fun and colorful. It grabs your attention and gives you an idea of what it is. I love that you can pull the packaging open and see the actual handheld and read additional information about the game.
The box includes the MobiGo Touch Learning System, game cartridge, USB cord, and a user manual.
It takes 4 AA batteries that go in the back. You’ll need to supply them as they aren’t included.The MobiGo actually reminds me a lot of my cell phone. When you flip the side open for the key board. I, personally, wish the top popped up a bit differently. Gavin struggles and often gets frustrated by opening it. He attempts to pull it up instead of pushing back.
The screen is so clear. the keyboard is not your average kids keyboard either. It’s durable and both the touch screen and the keyboard seem so “real”. I know that sounds funny, but many kid toys have those fake plastic like keyboards. This one is soft and moves like some of my own technology.
It comes with one game included called “Touch & Learn”. This is a great educational game as well as one getting them accustomed to the device.
This is an example of one of the games. You have to find which one is different. Then you need to tap on it and it will let you know if it is wrong or right.
Here is Gavin playing it:

I found this video as well from the 2010 Toy Fair and it will give you some great visual information:

Unfortunately you won’t be able to purchase this toy until August 2010. This also means we can’t get any new games until then. You can count on it that we’ll be there when they come in. I can’t wait to see which character games they will carry! Of course we’d love Wubbzy, Mickey, and Scooby Doo if possible. I know that they have Dora, Toy Story 3, and Ben 10 as options though.
