Rubbermaid – Plastic Drawer Organizer – Clean That Junk Drawer! Review!

We all have one. A junk drawer that is.
Even if we didn’t intentionally set out to have one they some how make themselves.
Rubbermaid just came out with these cool Plastic Drawer Organizers to clean them up!
At first I wasn’t sure what to think of them because they came in all different pieces. I’m use to those ones that come all as one. Then I realized my junk drawer is in the kitchen. It is that narrow drawer that I didn’t know what to do with it because of its weird size.
As you can see the junk drawer is just that. Filled with junk.
Rubbermaid sent a paper along called “Junk Drawer Organization 101“.
Rubbermaid states that there are three keys to having a functional junk drawer:

  1. Giving junk drawer inhabitants a specific place to live in the drawer
  2. Not throwing things that belong elsewhere in the drawer
  3. Cleaning the drawer out every now and then

So as you can see I wasn’t following any of these rules.
Rubbermaid then listed that I should empty the entire contents of my drawer out:

I was actually shocked at just how much that little drawer contained. It then recommended I make four piles: Trash, Donate, Keep, and Elsewhere. So I did:
They even matched perfectly. I put away the stuff I didn’t want in there and threw away the rest. Now I have a pretty and organized junk drawer. Now, I just need to follow rule three. Coming back and cleaning it in a few months.
Rubbermaid has offered one J. Leigh Designz reader a Plastic Drawer Organizer for your junk drawer!
